One of the most important things that connect us even if we are from different cultures, is food. It unites us and makes us appreciative of each other's tastes. LADDOO is a mixed-media short that consists of mediums like Stop-Motion, Rotoscopy, and Live-Action to tell the story of My Naani and her thoughts during the Pandemic, where she wasn't able to do the thing she loves the most, spread joy to others through the food she makes. As everything outside from temples to parks was closed. I thought why not take her to an imaginary world where she can live all these moments? Laddoos are an integral part of our Indian Culture, whether you give them to God or give them to joyful kids, or even the audience of this film. A Laddoo always makes a person happy.
MAKING OF THE FILM

The Pre-Production started when, to make this film, which was a college assignment, my mother wrote this poem. Here's the English Translation.

CHARACTER DESIGNS

Based on the Script. I took my Naani as a reference for the Animated Naani.

Chhota (Tiny) Laddoo

Anaadi (Crazy) Laddoo

Pareshaan (Worried) Laddoo

Shaant (Meditating) Laddoo

Khush (Happy) Laddoo

ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN

I wanted to create a Panoramic Background, where, after entering the imaginary world, she looks around and turns into an animated version of herself.
